William Rusher (DH 1)
Obv: A three-quarter face bust of William Rusher. WM. RUSHER HATTER BOOKSELR & STATIONER. BANBURY.
Rev: Arms of the Borough of Banbury. DEUS. EST. NOBIS. SOL. ET. SCUTUM. (GOD IS OUR SUN AND SHIELD) This is the motto of the town.
Edge: PAYABLE AT BANBURY OXFORD OR READING +
   
Notes:

William Rusher was a freeholder earning a living as a bookseller, stationer, and hatter in Banbury.

Banbury is partly in Oxfordshire, and partly in Northamptonshire, and was incorporated by Queen Mary. The Arms appear to have been granted by her successor in 1584. ~ Commercial Coins 1787-1804, R. C. Bell
